Giuseppe (Pino) Gulia is head of service for ACLI Innovative Activities. He collaborates with the Global Network of the ACLI national presidency. Between 1988 and 2002, he worked at Caritas Italy, where he was in charge of the Immigration Bureau and collaborated with the International Bureau. From 2004 until 2009, he was ACLI project leader for managing service in call centres and supporting the Office for the Promotion of Equal Treatment and the fight against discrimination based on race or ethnic origin (UNAR), part of the Italian government’s Ministry of Rights and Equal Opportunities. Since 2004, he has represented the Holy See at the OSCE (Vienna) at the annual conference of the ‘ALLIANCE AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS’. In 2006, he was a member of the Commission on Centres for Immigrants (CPTA, CPA, CID), set up on the initiative of the Ministry of the Interior, in order to monitor how these structures were working. On various occasions, he was designated by the EESC in Brussels as an expert on ad-hoc groups on immigration.
