Donatella Candura holds a degree in law from the University of Palermo and she also studied international law, economics, history of international relationships, attending post-graduating courses. She is a civil servant with the title of “joined vice prefect”. She has worked for law firms and for public administrations, like the Ministry of foreign affairs and the Public Treasury. Since 2005 she has been working for the Italian Ministry of Interior. She has worked at the department of civil liberties and immigration in Rome and at the Prefecture of Caltanissetta in Sicily, where she has been head of the immigration office, dealing with civil rights, citizenship, legal status of foreigners, immigration and asylum. She is currently participating in the 'Bellevue' programme, organised by the Robert Bosch Foundation to promote transnational mobility for European civil servants, and, thanks to this programme, she is working for the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Immigration in Madrid. |
