Mark Bell is a Professor of Law at the Centre for European Law and Integration, University of Leicester. He conducts research in the areas of national and European anti-discrimination law and labour law. He is the author of Racism and Equality in the European Union (OUP, 2008) and Anti-discrimination law and the European Union (OUP, 2002). He is an active participant in the European Working Group on Labour Law and he is currently working with the International Labour Organisation to develop training on the legal protection of precarious workers. He was a member of the European Commission's Network of Legal Experts in the Non-Discrimination Field (2004-2010). In 2008, he chaired an Ad Hoc Expert Group on Anti-Discrimination Law for the European Network Against Racism. His current research focuses on EU law and precarious work, such as part-time, fixed-term and agency work.
