Kirsten Lühmann was appointed to the national board as deputy national chair of the dbb by the trade union congress in 2007. Since 2009, she has been a member of the Bundestag for the SPD.
Kirsten Lühmann’s union of origin is the German Police Union, which she has belonged to since 1983. Since 1992, she has been involved in women’s representation and, in this connection, she was, amongst other things, Women’s representative for the Land of Niedersachsen and National representative for Women.
The senior police commissioner has, since 2001, been the deputy chair for Niedersachsen, an observer in the national board of the dbb’s women’s representation, a member of the BuHaVo commissions for personnel representation and employee participation and internal security. A member of CESI’s SOC committee since 2003, she has been President of the FEMM committee since 2005. Kirsten Lühmann has been a member of the board of the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) since 2009.
