Eric de Macker (1960) is president of CNV Publieke Zaak, the second public sector trade union in the Netherlands. Eric de Macker started his career with CNV as trade union lawyer in 1987. He was specialized in labour law, social security and civil law. In the following years Eric de Macker developed the professional organisation of CNV to a high quality service center for the union members. Eric de Macker was elected in the union board in 1996. He was negotiator on Dutch national level in pensions, social security and national labour agreements for the civil sector. He was member of the board of ABP, one of the world’s largest pension funds. In 2001 Eric de Macker became treasurer and vice president of CNV Publieke Zaak and director of the CNV company. Eric de Macker was elected for president of CNV Publieke Zaak in 2009. Eric de Macker is in his capacity of president of CNV Publieke Zaak responsible for the international affairs of the union and is vice president of CESI.
