Dr Beatrix Behrens is head of division HR Policies/HR Development at the headquarter of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA) (Federal Employment Agency) in Nürnberg. In this position, she held the project management to develop and introduce an integrated HR Management system at the BA.
Dr Behrens took a M.A. in Public Administration at the University of Constance and the German University of Administrative Science. After that she worked in the private sector for a few years as well as for one year at a US - non profit organization before she took part in the BA’s management trainee programme. She finally received her doctorate in Business Administration by the University of St. Gallen.
Since October 2009 until the end of 2010, she has also been working as National Seconded Expert at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) in Maastricht, her topics are HR Management and Leadership.
In September 2010, the Federal Government assigned Dr Behrens the project management of 'Demographic-sensitive HR Management' which is part of the government programme 'Networked and transparent Administration'. The German Ministry of the Interior and the Bundesagentur für Arbeit share responsibility for this project.
Dr Behrens has given national and international lectures on HR Policies and HR Development and has made several publications on this field.
